Tomball Lodge History

Tomball Masonic Lodge No. 1096 has been a pillar of the Tomball community for over a century, officially established shortly after the town was renamed for Thomas Ball. The Lodge was sponsored by Montgomery Lodge No. 25 and initially set to work on March 16, 1914, receiving its formal charter from the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Texas on December 3, 1914.
The original 24 charter members represented a cross-section of early Tomball pioneers, including townsite developers, railroad workers, and local business owners, reflecting the strong foundation the organization had within the growing community. Like many early institutions, the Lodge relocated several times in its first decades, notably meeting above Coleman’s Feed Store for a period.
A significant milestone was reached in the mid-1950s when the Grand Lodge of Texas laid the cornerstone for its permanent, dedicated facility on August 11, 1956. Tomball Lodge 1096 has held its stated meetings in this building since its inaugural meeting there on July 11, 1957, continuing its mission of promoting brotherhood and supporting the community through various local charitable and educational programs.
